If you lived in a secluded place with few people, this might be true, but even then, you’ve got other threats to worry about. What if the snow is too much and you can’t get out of your home to hunt for food? What if settlers come and bring a disease with them that wipes out your family? What if there is a drought that kills your crop and you’re faced with the likelihood of starving to death? Life has never been safe. There are always threats to survival. In the ways personal security and privacy, perhaps the threat has become more real than ever, but safety is only as real as you make it. You have to work to protect your own. Be Technologically Savvy

Technological advancements are doing a lot for the world, but if you’re not smart about what you post and what you do on the internet, your personal safety could very much be at risk. If you want to keep yourself safe in today’s world, your number one concern is cyber safety. Keep yourself technologically savvy so that you’re able to know what you should and should not do on the internet.  This also includes how you access the internet, because doing so without a VPN may leave you vulnerable to spying and WiFi hacking. Secure your email accounts, secure all your other accounts, don’t post personal information without valid cause, and think through things before you allow access or accept terms of agreement.

Use the Buddy System

If you live in a big city, your safety is at risk even when you don’t realize it. The sheer amount of people around means that no matter where you are, something could go wrong that could put you in jeopardy. If everything that you do, use the buddy system if able to keep yourself safe. If you’re walking to your car or the bus stop after work and it’s late, walk out with a coworker you trust. If you’re at a concert and need to use the restroom, grab a friend. You don’t have to do this in all aspects of your day to day life, but just measure your surroundings and see if having a buddy will make you safer. It’s truly better to be safe than sorry.

So much in life can be avoided if common sense and safety practices are just used. This speaks for itself. It’s not that drinking is bad. However, drinking excessively in unsafe environments is. You never want to put yourself in a situation where you could be drugged, get drunk with no idea of how your getting home, or drunk in an environment that could lead to your death due to your state of being. Follow these rules and you should be okay. It’s easier than you think to stay safe.
